Capcom’s popular samurai action series Sengoku Basara (also known as Devil Kings), makes its first appearance on the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system. Set during a tumultuous period of Japanese history, Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes allows players to take up the swords of more than a dozen fierce samurai warriors in huge battles against hundreds of opponents. Players will be able to unlock playable characters, as well as supporting generals who will make it easier to command and lead armies with the ultimate goal of re-writing history to rule all of 16th century Japan. The action is fast-paced and stylish, taking combat cues from producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi’s other big series, Devil May Cry. In addition to an extensive single-player campaign, the PlayStation 3 edition also offers online co-op gameplay.

Way of the Samurai 4: Torture chambers, naughty midnight missions in the dark and all the brutal slaughtering you can handle await in this sandbox-style samurai period action game. Admiral Perry has just opened Japan’s borders to the British, allowing for a long-overdue globalization process to begin. Unfortunately, one of the open ports happens to be a modest Japanese burg called Amihama, where a resistance group known as the “Disciples of Prajna” have taken up arms against the arriving foreigners and all who support them.

As a lone samurai who’s just arrived amidst the chaos, it’s up to you whether you want to join forces with the Prajna resistance, fight alongside the foreigners in the name of progress or take your stance somewhere between the two by supporting the local government’s attempts to quell the violence (through any means possible).

Samurai Warriors 4-II PSN + DLC is a hero-focused saga that casts a spotlight on the samurai that shaped the Sengoku era and tells their stories through 13 exciting new chapters. These chapters revolve around nine characters introduced in Samurai Warriors 4, three fan-favorites from previous titles, and a brand new addition to the samurai roster.

This game tells the tales left untold by “Samurai Warriors 4,” and from the point of view of the characters themselves, rather than the previous title’s focus on the various regions and clans of the time. Drawing upon some of the new characters introduced in “Samurai Warriors 4” as well as other popular characters, this title depicts the stories of these characters, enabling players to experience the untold stories behind the drama of the era.

In addition to the exhilarating battlefield gameplay that the series is known for, even more strategic elements have been added to make the gameplay more tactical than ever before. From Hyper Attacks being ineffective while in red zones to an increased emphasis on morale and improved AI patterns for enemy soldiers and officers, a greater focus on tactical gameplay has been added to all areas of the game.

Furthermore, the event scenes that are the backbone of the story, along with the background environments, camerawork and effects have increased the dramatic aspects of the game to allow for a story with even more passion and depth.
